Do you accept donations?

Yes! Since Kansas Rocks Rec. Park is a not-for profit entity, we accept donations such as money, labor, and supplies/items that will benefit the park and its visitors. All donations must be approved by the Board of Directors. Please contact us if you have any questions at [email protected].

How do I advertise with Kansas Rocks Recreation Park?

You can purchase advertising space on our ad boards by the parking lot. We have 2’x 4′ and 4’x 4′ spaces available. That will also include space and a website link on our sponsor’s page. Please contact us or an email (please include your contact information) to [email protected] and we will get more information and pricing to you.

What type of Off-Road vehicles are welcome?

We welcome 4 Wheel Drive, Mountain Bikes, Hikers, and UTV’s. ATV’s, Motorcycles and Quads are not welcome.

What are the park operating hours?

The park hours vary from summer to winter. From April 1 to October 1 we are open 1:00pm to 9:00pm on Fridays, 8:00 am to 9:00 pm on Saturdays and 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sundays (no entry after 3:00pm Sundays) and Monday holidays. From October 1 to April 1 we are open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays and 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Sundays (no entry after 2:00pm Sundays). Gates are locked promptly at closing times. We are not open during the week. If you experience trouble while in the park and it is close to closing time, please contact the park staff to make arrangements. Occasionally, the park may close due to inclement weather (i.e. snow and ice storms and flooding). If the park is scheduled to close it will be noted on our front page of the website and social media.

Do you have camping facilities?

We have 24 primitive tent camping facilities and 24 RV camping spots. RV has 30 & 50 amp electrical, but no water or sewer. You can check out the Fort Scott Chamber of Commerce for nearby facilities. We also partner with Lake Frances and Timber Hills Lake for camping and lodging facilities.

Do you have park t-shirts/sweatshirts/hats/stickers available?

We have a variety of park insignia wear items for retail sales.

Can a special event be held at the park?

Yes, if you have a corporate/club or benefit event, we can work with you on details and provide the park for your special event. Please contact us or email us at  [email protected] to discuss your event needs.

Are ATV’s or motorcycles allowed?

Unfortunately, the park is not open to ATV’s, motorcycles or quads. They were in our original considerations. As we worked through the grant to help provide this park, we were under restrictions and considerations that led to the elimination of these from being allowed. We DO, however, allow the side by side UTV’s, as long as they meet the same requirements as 4 wheel drive vehicles.
